Machon Basya Rochel Seminary is a four day a week dynamic seminary located in the Five Towns/Far Rockaway area for girls who have graduated from high school or have already been through a year in seminary. Each student is viewed as a unique individual with her own personal talents, struggles and aspirations. We look to develop each young woman to her fullest potential as a Bas Yisroel; the future of Klal Yisroel.
Machon Basya Rochel Seminary is a unique program of Chinuch Habanos in the Far Rockaway and Five Towns area. Located in the heart of Lawrence, it is a half or full day program for girls out of high school or out of a year in seminary. The Machon Basya Rochel student is one who is looking for a structured daily uplifting Torah learning experience.
At Machon Basya Rochel seminary, we focus on the complete person by meeting the diverse needs of the young Jewish woman. The seminary is an atmosphere where each student can be intellectually honest, inquisitive, and aspiring in all aspects of Avodas Hashem.
The plan of Machon Basya Rochel is to instill the credo of “derachecha darchei noam” in each of our Talmidos. Machon Basya Rochel Seminary presents a distinctive program of intellectually stimulating and challenging courses with practical application in mind. We are looking to enhance each young woman’s commitment to a Torah life, as well as her skills in Hebrew textual learning. Our classes and programs are designed to intellectually stimulate our students’ minds and speak to their hearts. They can fortify each young woman in the belief in the veracity of our heritage in both practical application and your overall Hashkafas Hachaim. Our faculty of expert mechanchim is here to give guidance and sere as role models. They are committed to creating a fulfilling year of learning.
Machon Basya Rochel Seminary is named after Rose Edelman, the wonderful mother of Lawrence community member Mr. Alex Edelman. Throughout her lifetime, she was indeed a woman who personified Shlomo Hamelech’s defintion of a true Aishes Chayil. We believe that in each student is the potential to develop into a true Bas Yisroel, true Eim B’yisroel and be a glowing asset to the future of Klal Yisroel.
